INVERNESS

Soon after we purchased this relatively unattractive large office block, the largest tenant informed us that they wished to exercise their break clause. The building was an awkward 1960’s concrete structure with asbestos problems and limited re-let options. Understanding the city of Inverness, and its demographic trends, informed our thinking of how to deal with this large and ugly, but well located, mixed-use building.

There were key signals to its future, understood at the time of purchase, which lead us to reinvent the building as chic city apartments set in open highlands. The addition of two restaurants, a deli, and an arts centre increased its attractiveness and capital value as a whole. What was once seen as a problem child is now a prime asset in a thriving British city.
